Gender Concerns International's recent trip to Egypt, in the second week of May, was well received by local women's organizations and the donor community. Director Sabra Bano stated, "it was crucial for Gender Concerns to visit Egypt to understand the conditions women are facing during this time of transition and looks forward to building upon our working relationships."
Gender Concerns aims to continue plans of development in the region with the various stakeholders and women's organizations. The trip further solidified that Gender Concerns is dedicated to the empowerment of women and achieving gender equality in Egypt. Gender Concerns is most grateful to the various embassies, government officials, EU Delegation representatives, and local women's groups for their time, expertise and dedication to increasing political participation, strengthening women's organizations and regional development.
