Looking Back to 2023: Celebrating 125 Years of Nederlandse Vrouwen Raad

“As Gender Concerns International reflects on the events of 2022, the organisation looks forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in 2023. In a symbolic move echoing the spirit of the past, this January holds particular significance for the organisation, much like last year's focus on Feminist Foreign Policy” - Sabra Bano.

At the New Year’s Reception, held to commemorate 125 years of Nederlandse Vrouwen in The Hague on the 30th of January 2023, Director Sabra Bano reiterated the commitment to advancing gender equality on both national and international fronts. Looking back at 2023, the organisation celebrated the milestones achieved in alignment with the National Feminist Policy framework in the Netherlands. This framework acts as a cornerstone, complementing the organisation's ongoing efforts in the realm of Feminist Foreign Policy.

The occasion provided a platform for Gender Concerns International to highlight its unwavering support for electoral gender parity and the promotion of gender equality in all political decision-making processes, both domestically and internationally. As the organisation charts its course into 2024, this January serves as a poignant moment akin to the last, where Gender Concerns hopes to pave the way for a future marked by increased gender equality and inclusivity.
