Looking Back to 2023: Gaza: #Ceasefire Now: Solidarity and Support for the People of Palestine

After yet a failed campaign by millions of people across the world demanding a ceasefire, the Dutch Civil Society Organisations remain committed to the plight of people of Palestine.

They continue their protest by organising across the country solidarity marches, filing and perusing a court petition on the sale of F35 parts to Israel and by placing 10,000 pair of children shoes in front of the Palace and the Liberation monument at Dam Square in Amsterdam to ask world political elite to ceasefire now.

There has been a revolt within the foreign services community. Some resigning from the Ministry other sending a letter demonstrating their disagreement with government`s position on War on Gaza. However, the Hague took central stage on world attention when International Court of Justice heard the Genocide Case against Israel. Not yet any glimpse of a ceasefire.

Marking the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29th November the Palestinian Mission in The Hague welcomed invited guests to express their solidarity through symbolic gestures such as lighting a candle and leaving a message of compassion and support for Palestine.

H.E. Ambassador Rawan Sulaiman cordially received the members of the diplomatic corps, Dutch Ministries, International organisations, CSOs and individual experts and professionals. The event was marked with sombreness providing a much-needed space for the guests to express their solidarity to the people whose resilience remains defiant and dignified. Justice for Palestine Now! Ceasefire Now!
