Women, Peace and Security is demanded for Women in Palestine

Recent escalations in Gaza and the West Bank have intensified systematic human rights violations against Palestinian women, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and sexual violence. UN and human rights reports reveal severe abuses, with women executed alongside children and subjected to inhumane treatment under the guise of security measures. The conflict has left many women as heads of households, struggling for necessities in overcrowded shelters. Gender Concerns International stresses the importance of addressing the struggles of all women, including those trapped in geopolitical conflicts, and calls for independent investigations to demand accountability and justice for the victims. Director Sabra Bano highlights the significance of recognising these gendered dynamics in webinars with organisations working in Palestine and urges the international community to prioritise the rights and freedoms of Palestinian women, ensuring their protection and support amid this prolonged crisis.
