The 2018 Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 62 Empowering Rural Women and Girls

On March 12-23 2018, the sixty-second session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Representatives from Member States, several UN entities and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world will attend the session. Themes such as: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls, as well as the Participation in access of women to the media, and information and communications technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women, will be discussed.

Gender Concerns International supports efforts for bringing together governments and organizations committed to women’s rights. We look forward to the continued implementation of our programs to build capacity and support from the international community for local women’s organizations and networks working to empower women in their communities.
