UN envoy to Western Sahara praises leading role of Saharawi women

The UN Secretary General's Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Ambassador Christopher Ross has praised the leading role played by the Saharawi women.

 

He has also proposed that the Saharawi Woman Union ask for participation in the POLISARIO delegation that negotiates with Morocco.

 

At a meeting with Saharawi women cadres he said he had followed for years their work in  the refugee camps and in the Saharawi territories under Moroccan control.

 

He confirmed that he seeks to continue the "hard work" to facilitate direct negotiations between the parties, POLISARIO Front and Morocco, for reaching a durable and just solution ensuring right of self-determination for the people of Western Sahara.
