Peacebuilding in Libya is to be ensured only by the participation of women in peace processes.

There is an urgency that the international community support Libyan women and Libyan Civil Society Organizations by ensuring the participation of women in peace processes guided by United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to create sustainable peace in Libya.

Libya’s situation has continued to deteriorate. It is unfortunate that there have been continuous reports of gender based violence, discrimination and human rights violation against refugees and migrants, including arrests of humanitarian workers. Arbitrary restrictions have continued to be imposed on civil society organizations and human rights activists compromising their safety and security. This deteriorating situation demands full attention in prioritising support for Libya.
