The Union Election Commission of Myanmar Visits The Hague
On Thursday 29th September, a delegation from the Union Election Commission (UEC) of Myanmar visited the Netherlands. The network and study visit, organised by International IDEA, travelled to Brussels, The Hague and Stockholm and was meeting with various stakeholders including Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands.
Ms Bano, Director of Gender Concerns, met with the UEC on the 29th of September to discuss linkages between political parties, elections and constitutional matters in democratic transition. Gender Concerns International was pleased to welcome the UEC to The Hague, continuing a positive working relationship towards gender-inclusive democratic transition in Myanmar.
