Sabra Bano, Director of Gender Concerns International, attended a Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) conference in Barcelona last week ‘’Women’s Socio Economic Empowerment: Projects for Progress.’’

The conference was a 'fruitful opportunity' to connect with other organizations working for women's empowerment. By bringing together 200 representatives from 35 countries, the conference created a unique momentum for dialogue at political and technical levels.

Ms. Bano (4th from left in front row of photo) was pleased to participate in the event to discuss and strategize on gender issues, and is optimistic that by attending this conference, new opportunities will arise to build synergies in the Mediterranean region and beyond.

Visit the UfM website for more information about UfM and the Barcelona conference.
