Director of Gender Concerns International speaker at the ''Women as Powerful Agents for Peace and Security'' seminar.

 


The Central topic of the ‘’Women as Powerful Agents for Peace and Security’’ seminar is the National Action Plan 1325. The seminar is organized in the framework of the annual meetings of the European Centre of the International Council of Women (ECICW) and the ICW.


The aim of the seminar is to present the uniqueness of the Dutch National Action Plan 1325 to a wide European and international public and promote cooperation between civil society organizations, ministries and research institutes in the European countries.


Another aim is to promote the development and cooperation with diaspora (women's) organizations in other European countries and propel these organizations to work for peace and reconciliation. During the seminar experiences of countries that have a National Action will be exchanged and ‘good practices’ will be presented.

 

Ms. Sabra Bano, Director of Gender Concerns International, will present in Panel I, the ‘good practices’ that Gender Concerns International has contributed to the elections and democracy in the MENA region.
