"I pledge before the Yemeni people to continue to realise the goals of change for which millions of our young people staged a revolution [...] and to hold elections next February as per the rules of the new constitution, which will usher the country into a new era of stability," the president said in a speech marking his first anniversary in office.
President Hadi was elected last February as a two-year transitional president under an agreement that stipulated the departure of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh following the popular revolt against his regime.
He set March 18th as the date for Yemen's national dialogue conference, which aims to draft a new constitution and prepare for elections in February 2014.
