Yemen, WB discuss Yemeni women conditions

SANA'A, Nov. 14 (Saba) – Yemen and the World Bank (WB) discussed here on Wednesday the conditions of Yemeni women and opportunities to raise their status including the bank's support in this area.

The meeting which gathered Minister of Human Rights Houria Mashhoor and the WB Social Development Specialist Nina Bhatt reviewed aspects of cooperation with the ministry and institutions concerned with women issues, particularly the National Commission for Women.

The meeting also dealt with subjects to support the capacity of civil society organizations concerned with women to improve their situation.

Human Rights Minister affirmed the need to enhance mechanisms of the WB office in Yemen to integrate the needs of social gender in its all programs with a focus on the government's program during the transitional phase.
