Gender Concerns International in Afghanistan

Gender Concerns International, with its extensive experience and expertise in supporting both women and development, has been active in Afghanistan for several years, with its primary goal being to strengthen the scope and influence of women’s organizations. The organization has been at the helm of various programmes in Afghanistan with the aim of promoting women’s interests, including capacity building programmes, media training sessions, female leadership programs, and advocacy workshops.

Gender Concerns International has been actively involved in Afghanistan, as well as throughout the MENA region, in cooperation with various organizations including the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union, the Afghan Women’s Movement (AWM), Women Human Rights and Media Organization (WHMO), Development and Support of Afghan Women and Children Organization (DSAWCO) and the Afghan Women Network (AWN). In the international context, Gender Concerns International has influenced lobby work, arranged the attendance of Afghan women at various large conferences, and worked to keep the international community’s focus on Afghanistan, as the rights of Afghan women remain fragile despite constructive advances
