Women in Afghanistan: Regional Stakeholders’ Meeting. UNSCR 1325 & 1820 and the Gender Relevance of The Hague Declaration and March 31st. The successful conference took place in Kabul on the 6th and 7th of July and was with the participation of women leaders from Afghanistan, Iran, India, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Gender and Election Afghanistan - 20th August 2009 - Karzai as president? On the Afghan Election day Gender Concerns International monitored election activities from its Election Update Cell that was set up at the head office in The Hague. The Afghan elections are concluded now and the preliminary results, released on September 16, 2009 are showing Hamed Karzai as a president with 54.6%. However the official results are expected to be announced later when a separate election fraud watchdog has approved the results. |

Gender Concerns International and UNIFEM Pakistan As follow-up to Islamabad-meetings in January and June 2009, Gender Concerns International and UNIFEM Pakistan agreed to become partners in order to support work around SCR 1325 and 1820 in Pakistan and specifically the Pakistan National Action Plan on UNSCR1325. |
